Step-by-Step Maintenance Instructions
1. Unplug the Pump
Disconnect the pump from power before performing any maintenance.
2. Remove Any Debris or Leaves by Hand
Manually remove all visible debris like leaves or twigs from the fountain.
3. Drain the Fountain
Starting from the top tier, carefully pour out the water from each bowl.
If your fountain has drain plugs, you can also easily drain each tier by pulling the plugs out instead.
4. Disassemble the Fountain
Remove each tier individually, disconnecting any tubing as you go.
5. Pull the Pump from the Pump Housing
Lift the pump out of the pump housing area for easy access.
6. Remove the Front Cover from the Pump
Detach the front faceplate of the pump to expose internal parts.
7. Twist Off the Impeller Cover
Unscrew the impeller cover to reveal the impeller inside.
8. Remove the Impeller
Gently pull out the impeller by using the needle nose pliers.
9. Clean the Pump Components
Soak a clean rag in the vinegar-water cleaning solution and use it to wipe down the entire exterior of the pump.
Use cotton swabs dipped in the same solution to clean inside the pump cavity, especially tight or recessed areas.
Carefully clean the impeller and the pump magnet to remove any buildup, algae, or mineral deposits.
10. Rinse Thoroughly with Clean Water
Rinse all components thoroughly with clean water to eliminate any residue from the cleaning solution.
11. Reassemble the Pump
Reinsert the impeller
Twist the impeller cover back into place
Snap or lock on the front cover
12. Adjust the Flow Control Dial
Set the flow control dial to your preferred water output before reinstalling the pump.
13. Reinstall the Pump
Place the pump back into the pump housing and reconnect tubing as needed.
14. Reassemble the Fountain
Stack the tiers in order, reconnecting the tubing between them securely.
15. Reinstall All Drain Plugs
Ensure all drain plugs are reinserted and secure before refilling with water.
16. Refill and Test
Fill the fountain with clean water, making sure the pump is fully submerged.
Plug it in and confirm smooth, quiet operation with steady water flow.
